Hi, LIoyd
Which version of xCAT are you using? 'lsxcatd -v'.
Will you pls provide me the whole console records after the node is powered on?
And will you pls provide me the log file /var/log/xcat/commands.log?
Thx!
Best Regards,

Subject: [xcat-user] getdestiny; unrecognized directive

Okay. This is another
I-probably-missed-something-really-simple-because-I'm-a-newbie, sort of
question.
I'm trying to boot a cluster node in my test xcat environment, and the
boot image loads over PXE, etc., but I end up in this strange sort of
error, that seems like it's xcat-specific. My google-fu doesn't seem to
be working well enough today to find the problem. So any pointers to
the right way to go, I'd appreciate it. I'll attach a screenshot, but
I'll also try to re-type the console output here:
> xcat.genesis.doxcat: Running getdestiny --> 192.168.25.7:3001
> xcat.genesis.doxcat: Received destiny=
> xcat.genesis.doxcat: The destiny=, destiny parameters=
> xcat.genesis.doxcat: Unrecognized directive (dest=)
> xcat.genesis.doxcat: ... Will retry xcat in 50 seconds
> xcat.genesis.doxcat: ... Will retry xcat in 40 seconds
> xcat.genesis.doxcat: ... Will retry xcat in 30 seconds
> xcat.genesis.doxcat: ... Will retry xcat in 20 seconds
> xcat.genesis.doxcat: ... Will retry xcat in 10 seconds
> ...
I'm guessing from this, and a tcpdump of the network interaction, that
I've failed to set up something on the server, and so it can't respond
with the information needed for the client (thus the empty values
shown). But I'm at a loss as to what I missed.
Any tips?
Thanks,
Lloyd Brown
