Do an lsdef -t osimage -o <kvm image>

Note the packages dir, and make sure the relevant packages are there.

If not, you might either add them there, or create a new otherpkgs dir and add them to it, don't forget to update the profile if you do.

Thanks for the response, I am trying to do set this up for kvmhosts, management node is all setup, its the pkglist file causing issues. On the kvm host it throws an error at kickstart stating kvm package doesnt exist while it does exist on the management node.

I am assuming you are trying to do "yum install kvm" on the xCAT Management Node ?
If so, try "yum install *virt*" instead.

[xcat-user] XCAT vm management issue

Hi team,
Please help.
following
https://sourceforge.net/p/xcat/wiki/XCAT_Virtualization_with_KVM/for managing VMs, but I am getting weird error,
all the virtualization packages throw error,
"You have specified that the package 'kvm' should be isntalled. this package does not exist. Would you like to ignore and continue"
But when I check my Packages directry all but xnba-kvm are present. can somebody point me to how can I fix this ? also, the list had gpxe-kvm which was renamed to xnba-kvm. But still I am getting these pakages missing errors.
I am installing Centos7, full disk 7.8G is included using copycds. Any help would be appreciated, thanks in advance.
