I can recreate this issue in our test system. It seems nodeset only
create node file, not node.uefi or node.elilo files.
I will dig into more,
anyway, which xCAT release on your system?
Thanks,
Casandra

Not sure if I should nodeset netboot or osimage. I tried both.
I must be missing something basic in the boottarget howto.

after nodeset, can u check the nodetype table again?
tabdump nodetype
ls -ltr /tftpboot/xcat/xnba/nodes/n9*
Have you try provision the node?
Thanks,
Casandra

Subject: [xcat-user] boottarget and booting to Centos LiveCD
Hello,
I am trying to boot to a Centos7 live CD using xCAT.
First, has anyone successfully did it and can share insights?
Second, I am trying to use boottarget to customize the xnba files to allow
netbooting the Live CD.
My osimage looks like this –
# lsdef -t osimage -o c7livecd
Object name: c7livecd
osarch=x86_64
osvers=boottarget
profile=c7livecd
provmethod=boottarget
My linuximage.boottarget has c7livecd as well (the boottarget profile)
# tabdump boottarget
#bprofile,kernel,initrd,kcmdline,comments,disable
"c7livecd","vmlinuz0","initrd0.img","root=live:
http://11.11.101.1:/install/e8-livecd/LiveOS/squashfs.img console=tty0
console=ttyS0,115200",,
# tabdump nodetype
#node,os,arch,profile,provmethod,supportedarchs,nodetype,comments,disable
"n9","boottarget","x86_64","c7livecd","netboot",,,,
]# nodeset n9 osimage=c7livecd
Warning: n9: xnba might be invalid when provisioning e8livecd,valid
options: "".
For more details see the 'netboot' description in the output of "tabdump -d
noderes".
n9: boottarget boottarget-x86_64-c7livecd
Here are the files generated –
# cat /tftpboot/xcat/xnba/nodes/n9
#!gpxe
#boottarget boottarget-x86_64-c7livecd
LOCALBOOT 0
[root@ohpc1 ~]# cat /tftpboot/xcat/xnba/nodes/n9.elilo
default="xCAT"
delay=0
image=/tftpboot/xcat/genesis.kernel.x86_64
label="xCAT"
initrd=/tftpboot/xcat/genesis.fs.x86_64.gz
append="quiet console=tty0 console=ttyS0,115200 xcatd=11.11.101.1:3001
destiny=shell BOOTIF=%B"
[root@ohpc1 ~]# cat /tftpboot/xcat/xnba/nodes/n9.uefi
#!gpxe
chain http://${next-server}/tftpboot/xcat/elilo-x64.efi
-C /tftpboot/xcat/xnba/nodes/n9.elilo
What am I missing? What is the correct way of using boottarget?
THX in advance!
