Hello,
I didn't test it, but it might be feasible, although it might not be
straightforward.
The CMC doesn't use a proprietary driver per se, it is used mostly to allow the
blades to be discovered in the correct order, and then addressed correctly.
But the blades themselves are Supermicro based motherboards, so the standard
IPMI commands should work.
The thing is to get the MAC addresses in the correct order to populate the
database.
Otherwise, the SGI SMC software has been replaced by HPCM:

Subject: [xcat-user] xCAT on SGI ICE X
Hello,
I would like to know if someone is running xCAT on SGI ICE X. Since the SGI ICE
X needs the CMC drivers I’m unsure if xCAT can be used to control the machines
instead of the proprietary software from the faded SGI.
Thanks,
