Hello Bin,
Docker would be a solution, thank you for this tip! But I don't think
there's anything wrong with staying at 12.3 for now. However, is there a
raw estimation possible when SLE15 will be supported? Or are there plans
not to support it at all?
Cheers
Winfried

Not sure if we can leverage xcat docker container (which run centos7
as base image) to do it. (https://github.com/xcat2/xcat-docker)
If you don't use SLES diskless (we are still thinking about how to
building image for cross-distro, maybe a corresponding docker image on
that distro ), the current docker container should work well.

Hi Yuan,
We are an ISP (Deutsche Telekom) and have been using xCat for many
years. One of our vendors (IBM) recommended it once to provision
nodes to run their software. We are very pleased with it!
Now, we support using SLES12.3 xCAT management node to provision
SLE15 diskful compute node.
I see. In the past we always tried to have a unified setup on the
management nodes and the compute nodes. With the same OS level.
But of course we could also stay on 12.3 for management node and
provision SLE15 on the compute nodes if that is supported. Thank
you for this information!
Do you know if there is a release plan for SLE15 and when it will
be available?
Btw, I read on xcat.org that the project also provides "support
contracts". Do you know more about that?
Best regards
Winfried

Hello Winfried,
We do not have SLES15 xcat-dep repository now. SLES15 renamed as
SLE15 based on its official release notes. Now, we support using

node.
Could you share more information about How to use xCAT on SLES
and your organization name?
We can weigh the priority of supporting different OS based on
customer requirements.
Thanks.

Hello,
There is no repository for SLES15 in
http://xcat.org/files/xcat/repos/yum/xcat-dep/
Did I miss something? Or doesn't SLES15 need a xcat-dep
repository? Or
is it just too early?
Many thanks!
Winfried
