Hello,

I'll try to sum up here (sorry for the new thread) the quesions I have left about nics in a stateless mode after some (unsuccessfull) tests and posts.

Thanks everyone for your time and help.

So basically here's my conclusion (I'm very confused) :

in short, my guess is that xCAT discovery is not meant to deal 2 nics on the same vlan/subnet

As far as I've experienced, my setup where I'm using stateless mode, and nodes with 2 nics on the same vlan, it seems impossible to PXE on one nic and to have the other nic configured once the node provisionned :

- *whatever* bios order I PXE: eth0 will always get configured in the end, eth2 will end up with a lease like :

 host tars-113-noip0cc47a58c76a {
  dynamic;
  hardware ethernet 0c:c4:7a:58:c7:6a;
        supersede server.allow-booting = 00;
}

I don't know why.

- noderes.installnic : I still don't know how it's supposed to be used but its value doesn't seem to make sense when different from the nic which did the PXE (eth0)

- nics.nips doesn't seem to help in my case either

Thanks again.
