We’ve been running diskless nodes with chronyd connecting successfully to
frontend node mgt5,
until now….
We booted 5 nodes with a new image, around a month ago. Just now noticed clock
skew and found
that all five of them were running with local 7F7F0101 clock source. The
configuration /etc/chrony.conf
seems to be in order, but systemctl status chronyd showed “Can’t synchronise:
no selectable sources”
There were no keys in /etc/chrony.keys file. I have a machine running chronyd
successfully with no keys,
so that may be a red herring. In any case, restarting chronyd today did resync
the clocks and is now
tracking mgt5 properly.

Has anyone else seen this before? New image is stock RHELS 7.7. Management
node is older.
xCAT is pretty old, 2.14.6

Thanks,
 — ddj
