Ok. Don't know if it is still the case but I think confignetworks for instance was able to adapt to a NetworkManager or not environment.


Regarding your questions:

I was just pointing out how many cases of resolv.conf handling can be and what to look for to find out (you have to read the different man for the details - it quite simple but the combinatory makes it complex).

It's a NetworkManager configuration directive, like 'dns=' you could look also. For instance on both my stateless and stateful nodes, I had to state dns=none (although at the time I hadn't read about rc-manager and I may maybe use a more adequate setting)

By the way : this is not related but I had to setup hostname-mode also (to none as well)
