- Is this Power or x86 arch ? - Is this diskfull or diskless install ? - Do you have your own postbootscripts added to osimage or node definitions or just running default xCAT's "otherpkgs" ? - Have you tried running "updatenode" to see if the same error is reported ? After the installation completes with no installation errors reported in /var/log/xcat/xcat.log on the node that had been installed and in /var/log/xcat/computes, I see the following message in /var/log/xcat/xcat.log: Fri Aug 13 11:42:42 CEST 2021 [debug]: xcat.deployment.postbootscript: node boot failed, reporting status... Fri Aug 13 11:42:42 CEST 2021 [error]: xcat.deployment.postbootscript: provision completed with error.(plato7) Also, the node is tagged as failed in the node record. Does anyone has an idea what cause this problem, or a hint how I can dig into it. Unfortunately xcatdebugmode=2 don’t work for Sles15.2 as the password set in passwd table for admin user isn’t applied and the procedure to login to the node and run yast manually don’t work.
