Andre, The last xCAT version that was tested on SLES11SP3 was xCAT 2.10. So you are probably safe upgrading to that version. We have not tested latest xCAT version 2.16 on SLES11SP3. Another thing you can try is to install a new node with the desired OS, backup xCAT DB on your current management node, install latest xCAT 2.16 on the new node and restore xCAT DB from the current node.
