In terms of migrations, it is still not documennted/limited.

There's no mechanism to port a deployment image. I actually did a short proof
of concept for booting xcat stateless images, it could be revisited. I suspect
the security features would be omitted from xcat images, and may not support
all the addressing modes, but would have to flesh it out.

For shifting a node over from one to the other for a reinstall, the biggest
thing is to tell xCAT to 'let go' of the system for known systems (e.g. a
mac.mac ending with '!*NOIP*'').

For getting an xCAT node equipped with confluent ssh keys and confluent api
token, I have done this but haven't wrapped that up in a nice procedure. It
wasn't difficult, but would have to refresh my memory. Roughly it was putting
the 'functions' and 'apiclient' on the node and running a short script.

Subject: [External] Re: [xcat-user] Confluent 3.3 is released, new stateless
implementation

Jarrod, this seems to bridge the gap between xCAT and Confluent.

Stateless is a long missing feature on Confluent. I'll definitely give it a try
when I have some spare time.

Is there any hot migrations available (without reinstalling the entire cluster)?

Thanks.

Dracut in the image builds the initramfs, making for easier customization, or
at least customization that’s the same for diskless as it would be for diskful.
