If you boot the node to the genesis image, can you ssh into it? If so, you may not be able to ssh into the node when syncfiles runs, but console should work. The anaconda installer is a tmux session, so you should be able to go to the next window to get a shell prompt (Ctrl-b n). Once at a shell prompt, you should be able to troubleshoot the network connection between the node and xCAT.
