There's even a place that is pure IPv6 without IPv4 (though I think they have to put up with some impractical limitations with other software, so I personally would not recommend skipping IPv4). ________________________________ From: Glick, Bill <[email protected]> Sent: Saturday, January 18, 2025 4:44 PM To: xCAT Users Mailing list <[email protected]> Subject: [External] [xcat-user] Dual Stack IPv4 IPv6 Network Configuration I am trying to configure an additional network interface in xCAT to support both an IPv4 and an IPv6 address on a RHEL 9 host running NetworkManager. I’m guessing that I can set the nicips attribute for a node as follows: nicips.eth0=192.168.1.1,2001:0db8:85a3:0000:0000:8a2e:0370:7334 However, I am unsure how to define the network settings for both IPv4 and IPv6, specifically the 'net', 'mask', and 'gateway' parameters. I’m using xCAT 2.17. I’d seen more documentation on parts of this in much earlier versions of xCAT, so unclear if this sort of thing is actually supported. - Bill Glick
