The edif import function was only written to satisfy one specific
need, which was to view schematics from Cadence.  Since I don't have
a license for edif 300 output, I can only use edif 200.  Beyond Cadence
output of edif 200 format, I don't make any claims about the abilities
of the edif parser.  I just tested the import function under xcircuit
3.6.163, and it works fine.  I would be happy to see what I can do
about accepting the format of the edif file you tried;  however, as
usual, xcircuit-dev devours attachments, so you will have to email the
attachment directly to me.
