That would certainly explain the whole problem and the existing
solution. XCircuit makes quite a few low-level X11/Xlib calls.
Likewise, for Cygwin, I compiled an X11-based Tcl/Tk instead of
using the (formerly existing) native Windows version. I have only
a basic knowledge of native Windows graphics, and I know next to
nothing about Aqua, so don't expect a native Aqua version of
XCircuit any time soon. . .
