I tend to prefer the poster to be in the reply line.  However, if
having the list in the reply-to line is the norm, I have no problem
changing it (I just did).  The reason I prefer the poster in the reply
line (and, I assume, the reason that mailman calls it the "preferred"
setting), is that one can send a private message back to the sender
with "reply", or a public one with "reply all".  However, receiving
two emails for each reply can be an annoyance, too.  I will try the
new setting;  I'm sure I can get used to it.
