I am running (well, just beginning to learn about) xcircuit version
3.8.78 on xubuntu 17.10 (basically ubuntu 17.10 but with xfce desktop).
This version of xcircuit is the default version from the Ubuntu
repositories, I have simply installed it by 'apt install xcircuit' and
have assumed it is sensibly configured (which may of course be quite
wrong).

I'm surprised I hadn't found xcircuit before, it looks excellent and
just what I want for drawing and documenting my own (fairly basic)
circuits.

However while using the Tuturial to find my way through xcircuit's
many facilities it would seem that the selection capabilities of
'Button 2' are not as they should be.

The tutorial says that clicking Button 2 on an object (I'm just doing
it with a line) should select that object and turn it 'gold'. Not on
my system it doesn't, but Button 3 *does* select the object as
described.

Also I cannot get either Botton 2 or Button 3 to drag a 'marquee'
round an object to select it. Pressing and dragging either Button 2
or Button 3 does nothing at all.

I'm pretty sure I have Button 2 and Button 3 the right way round,
Button 2 is the RH button and Button 3 is the middle button - yes?

On revisiting the line creation stuff in Tutorial: Task 2 it seems
to me that the functions of buttons 2 and 3 are reversed which did
confuse me a little at the time but wasn't so obvious as the selection
problem above.

So is this a bug or just a mis-Tutorial? :-) ... and it would be
nice to be able to do the marquee selection.

Finally is this the right sort of place to ask this sort of question
or is there a bug list on github? I caouldn't find xcircuit as a
project on github.
