As defined in X11, Button 2 is the middle mouse button and Button 3 is the right mouse button. However, dragging is done with the left mouse button (Button 1) held down. There is a difference in intepreting a "tap" and a "hold". > On revisiting the line creation stuff in Tutorial: Task 2 it seems > to me that the functions of buttons 2 and 3 are reversed which did > confuse me a little at the time but wasn't so obvious as the selection > problem above. > > So is this a bug or just a mis-Tutorial? :-) ... and it would be > nice to be able to do the marquee selection. If the button 1 press-and-hold to drag objects is not described correctly, then the tutorial is wrong; otherwise, if you're trying to drag an object around using the middle or right buttons, it won't work, and if you can't drag an object around at all, it's a bug, although I've never known that not to work. > Finally is this the right sort of place to ask this sort of question > or is there a bug list on github? However, I moved recently and was forced to give up Verizon in favor of Comcast, which has complicated everything ten-fold, and I'm still working out bugs caused by the switch.
