Thanks!
I was using the period key to enter the dots. However, I didn't have
generic.lps loaded so I got an xcarc instead of a generic::dot.

I didn't consider that the fallback method is to generate a filled
circle only, and would not produce the expected connectivity.  Probably
it would be a good idea for it to add the pin as well so that the
connectivity is ensured.
