I don't think this is a 6.2-only thing - both my Yosemite iMac and MBP have been "elongating" the drag text delay for the last few weeks (pre-6.2), and happens with TextEdit too. Quitting and restarting either app restores it to the std 1-sec-ish delay. Restarting Macs don't fix it - seems to be painfully long (>10 seconds) by morning the next day.
To test - press and hold mouse - see if cursor ever changes without moving. Like mine, if it eventually works, and an app restart restores it to normal speed, then I'm not alone. Either way - this is a relatively recent (weeks?) system-level issue that I wish Apple would fix, because I use d-n-d text editing religiously without, and app restarts are a PITA.
