I get a “thing” — a floating button is perhaps what it is — which says “manual” and can be clicked to complete creation of the segue. If I go in the other direction (to-target), I get a little HUD panel listing all the segue types, with section headings including “Manual” above the regular segue choices. (There’s a second group of deprecated choices.) So I'd guess that your from-target drag is disambiguating which group of segues, and is giving a choice of one thing. Or possibly it’s just a “do-it” button. It’s not very clear.
