Hello, another VO user! First, I'd suggest reading the guide to Xcode I wrote, intended for VO users: http://www.applevis.com/guides/programming-ios-programming-os-x-voiceover/voiceover-users-guide-xcode
As to tabs, I'd strongly suggest putting all your scenes in the storyboard first--the ones you'll want as tabs, that is. Don't add navigation controllers, detail views, or anything else yet. Select them all, embed in tab bar as the previous poster suggested, then you should be okay. I say this because I haven't yet managed to get a scene to show up as a tab after the fact, though 7.1 might have fixed that. My Xcode machine is down for a while, so I can't test or develop until that's fixed. I hope that helps, at least a little. If you have Xcode questions, by all means, post them here. If something VO-specific isn't working, let us know and I can try to help. I'd also suggest [email protected], a low-traffic list meant for Apple developers who rely on VoiceOver. > On Oct 30, 2015, at 21:28, Peter Tomaselli <[email protected]> wrote: > > Hi Scott, I’m sure someone much more knowledgable than I will chime in very > shortly, but the basic idea is to get an instance of UITabBarController into > your storyboard. > > I don’t know very much about Xcode’s VoiceOver interface (sorry), but > probably the best way to get started doing this is to select an existing > scene in the storyboard (the one where the tabs should first appear) and > choose “Embed In > Tab Bar Controller” from the “Editor” menu.
