Apologies if this is the wrong list. If so, is there a better list or forum? I have been using pkgutil -check-signature to sanity check Open source disk images [R (the statistics open source) and GIMP]. Is this an acceptable sanity check? If so and pkgutil indicates that the checksum in invalid for a GIMP disk image from GIMP.org what is the reason [interpretation]? Next: Is there a built in MD5 / SHA utility or terminal command to also sanity check disk images. If not, then how do you sanity check the open source MD5/SHA open source disk images? John
