Yeah, I’ve purchased Tower, but am not a fan. And mostly because of Apple’s UI.
See, I’m trying to learn a new tool, but… Honestly, Apple has done its users a huge disservice by insisting by insisting that every one of its UI control have to be animated. This created user interfaces that are more distracting than they are useful. It’s disturbing. You try and use a new tool and all the visual motion is so distracting, it makes it harder to focus on the actual task you wanted to use the UI for in the first place. Cascading up and down folder contents need to die in the fire of a thousand suns. The UI is meant to aid the user, not to entertain or distract the user. There’s only so much bandwidth a user has to pay attention and quick motion reflexively and startlingly draws your attention to the thing that moved, therein disrupting your focus. Really, Apple’s UI team needs to realize this.
