Hi,

this build features several experimental optimizations:

- updating terrain while panning/scrolling is now faster by an order
of magnitude (or more); this allows extremely large maps without
measurable performance penalty (e.g. the map of a whole continent)

- terrain data is cached on SD card; when cached, terrain loading
during startup takes only a small fraction of a second

- the way point parser does not attempt to load the altitude from
terrain if the input file specifies an altitude (another big
  speedup)

- menu buttons can now be translated (first code contribution from
  Helmut Rohs)

- disabled double click detection on form buttons; you can now click
through the page list as fast as you want

- holding (and releasing) the mouse button / touch screen on an info
box for more than 2 seconds lets you reconfigure the infobox

- several Linux rendering fixes

In other news:

- Tobias is writing a new map generator, which will soon replace the
  old one

- Rob is working on finally fixing AAT support (which has had some
regression after the new task engine was integrated by John in
  January)

- I will soon include the Linux build in my 6.0 pre-releases. We're
on schedule for the Android version of XCSoar. Expect first demos
to appear on the Android market by the end of the year.
