Hi David,

thanks for your suggestions!

The two direction gestures have actually 4x3 options as you can do the L in two different directions and even Up-Down is a valid gesture. ;) We haven't implemented that much gestures yet (besides the Flarm Radar) but that might change soon. You can get to the fullscreen flarm radar by simply tapping onto the small one. Same procedure for the fullscreen thermal assistent.

To be honest I am not particularly happy about the whole Profile stuff anyway. What we call a profile file is actually a patch file for the standard profile and all of this seems non-intuitive to me. We still have some serious clean-up in front of us in terms of user-experience. But that was the plan all along, first we work on the base code to make it stable and easier to use and after that we care for the user-interface because it gets much easier then. LK8000 is trying it the other way around, which might also work.

As pictures say more then words: Would you be able to do some sketches of the dialogs and features you have in mind?! If so please create a ticket for each suggestion and attach the images so we can discuss them. I have some things in mind to, but unfortunatly my time is limited ;)

Hi All,

Firstly I would like to congratulate the devs, particularly Max who seems to have been pumping out
changes constantly, on version 6.

I know I should probably create a ticket or something but I would like to throw around a few ideas which I had whilst dusting cobwebs for some odd reason.

I just discovered the V6 gesture support for right page and zoom and it is great . It led me to a few ideas for other gestures. I noticed an L shape takes you to a waypoint select screen. it occurred to me that the same shape can be used 3 other ways.

I thought that perhaps the main in flight parameters that need to be changed, such as bugs, ballast and mcready could go to other simple screens with VERY large up down buttons to select values.

Further, how about a clockwise circle brings up thermal detector and an anti-clockwise one FLARM full
screen? Tap to return to main screen.

Whilst I am warmed up on the subject of GUI, we need the ability to save a profile on exit by name,
so as to simplify site and aircraft changes.

It would also be nice if during start up where one now can select a profile, we could have a screen with few large buttons and values that allows the following.

1. Select profile.
2. Edit profile.
3. Ballast
4. QNH
5. Max temp
6. Continue

Edit profile screen.

1. Site data- (Goes to) Maps, airspace, waypoints and landing field setup page.)
2. Edit Glider type- Goes to Polar page
3. Task select/Edit.
4. Pilot Info for declarations
5. Save this profile
6. Continue

This would cover all the basics values that need to be changed. The six buttons fill the screen completely.

The sub screens for MCready, bugs and ballast changes in flight (See gestures above), could just be big value number with up/down swipe to change.

Lastly, a 3 top info box setup with LARGE direction arrows at each side and waypoint name, track error in degrees and distance in the middle, effectively joining the 2 existing middle info boxes.

I'm probably dreaming!

I thought others might have some different suggestions for which settings should be present?

My thanks again to the devs you are doing a great job.

Regards all.

Dave L
