Still trying to log in to the site, and I am out at Temora gliding, trying
to get the most out of XCSoar. So I post my issue here... here goes.
I am using XCSoar version 6.0 alpha 7 PPXC2000 on a car PDA/GPS. Most of the
functions work fine, but
1. It does not calculate wind in circling mode even though I have the
green thermalling trace showing drift.
2. It thermal assist it states 'not circling' even though I am
circling.
3. I cannot easily change screen brightness.. It would be nice if it
were bright for say 20 seconds after screen tap, then automatically revert
to a lower backlight setting. With high backlight setting the GPS PDA gets
hot.
While thermalling the snail trail shows circular flight and drift in with
the wind. The update in circling is set to 1 second, and I have set 'Flap
Force' to OFF.
Anyway XCSoar is great. Several of my flights [13 ~ 15 DEC 2010] from
Temora on OLC have been recorded on XCSoar.
