Hi, four months have passed since the release of XCSoar 6.0, and many XCSoar developers have been working hard behind the scenes on the next version 6.1, while at the same time supplying bug fixes for 6.0 to you.
XCSoar 6.1 is nearly done, the new features are implemented. Some highlights: - route suggestions to avoid airspaces and mountains - the terrain reach line/shade now considers turning around mountains - runway directions can be displayed on the map - new task manager - new task types - instant score calculation for XContest, DHV-XC, SIS-AT - new InfoBox configuration dialog, new layouts for large screens - Android display rotation (automatic and manual) - many performance improvements - many many small features, too many to list here There have been 2,854 code changes since version XCSoar 6.0. That makes an average of about 25 improvement every day! 35 people have worked on XCSoar 6.1 (not counting bug reporters), thanks to everybody, it has been a great pleasure again to be with you on the team. New team members welcome! This is an alpha release. This means that it is mostly feature-complete, but there are many outstanding bug reports and known bugs left, which we will now concentrate on.
