You misunderstood that. What I meant by "pixel" is a rasterpoint in
the terrain/elevation image file. It should indeed improve the
accuracy of the terrain-based calculations, though I think that the 9
arcsec/pixel are already quite good. The original dataset of the NASA
also has 3 arcsec/pixel and the LowRes version is simply interpolated
to a lower resolution.
