There seems to be still a bug in 6.3.3 with the bluetooth adapter k6. Sometimes
when xcsoar is stopped by failure or leaving the app it is not possible to
reconnect to my lx7007 with flarm via the k6. The app says cannot open port.
Even when i rstart xcsoar or my galaxy note now running ics. Same trouble under
gingerbread. The only solution is at the moment to switch the k6 off by
switching of the lx which means all data lost. Ihad a long talk to georg rüth
we did not find a solution

Regarding the wind calculation Kevin mentioned below, I found XCSoar wind
calculation to be updated infrequently. Your thermal drift can change by 180
degrees due to wind change but XCSoar will not adjust the wind information soon
enough. Also when not circling it will not update even if you make changing in
heading. I tried the circling and zigzag mode. But once I select the option to
use external wind from my 302, it is far more accurate. So my recommendation
will be to try the external wind option if your flight computer provides this
info.

The XCSoar developers are working on an internet platform for
publishing flights. Unlike OLC, it is free (based on free
softwaretest it:ous unlimited IGC file downloads, no censorship, free
speech). It is still in early development, but you are invited to
test it:

http://skylines.xcsoar.org/

At this stage, you can register, upload flights, view them, download
IGC files, but not much more. Work in progress!

Volunteers helping with development welcome.

Hey, I think that's a great idea. Especially if we can open up the
flights and data for using them in other projects (automated thermal
maps e.g.).

So, I would like to help out. I know some python, HTML and CSS.

Unfortunately I have a problem setting up the project with
pylons/pyramid (never used this framework).
After installing it in a virtualenv environment, I get a problem setting
up skyline for development:

$ ../bin/python setup.py develop
$ [...]
$ error: Installed distribution WebOb 1.2 conflicts with requirement
WebOb==1.0.8

Then I installed WebOb 1.0.8, and now it says that I need a version
greater than 1.1.1:

$ error: Installed distribution WebOb 1.0.8 conflicts with
requirement WebOb>=1.1.1

So, what's the best way to setup a development environment? I used the
following tutorials:

http://docs.pylonsproject.org/projects/pyramid/en/1.3-branch/narr/install.html
http://docs.pylonsproject.org/projects/pyramid/en/1.3-branch/narr/project.html

Thanks!

Christian

Hi everyone!

Here comes the XCSoar 6.3.4 maintenance release. This version fixes a
few minor but sometimes annoying bugs. Owners of the CAI302 will be
glad to hear the the 30 second timeout problem is fixed again and
owners of certain Samsung devices that don?t use an external SD card
can now use the internal storage again.

We would like to thank you for the positive feedback on our vario
filtering code. Since this seems to be working so great now, we have
started working on audio vario output for XCSoar 6.4. Stay tuned!

Changelog:

Download:

http://www.xcsoar.org/download/index.html
http://download.xcsoar.org/releases/6.3.4/

The next maintenance release will be 6.3.5, to be released on demand.
The next major release will be 6.4, scheduled in about two to three months.

Hi Tobias;

Not sure how important this is: VERSION.txt contains "6.4_preview4" but,
I think, should contain "6.3.4".
