I don't think this is a new problem with latest release. I noticed the same 
since I started using XCSoar nearly 2 years ago (6.3), and switched over to 
'external' wind since I found the 302 wind more accurate and more 
instantaneous. I also recommend using the HW/TW infobox for accurate and 
instantaneous component wind if your flight computer provides true airspeed 
such as 302.
