Ok, here my two cents.

I agree with the initial statement of thread, because at other spots
like the pan mode of XC the interaction paradigms align with iOS,
Android & Co. 

That means in pan mode the xc user moves the map with his interaction,
but the page swish moves the view port over the underlaying page
sequence. 
That is not consistent and I would vote for changing the page swish
sense.
