Hi, Nautilus doesn't have support for action entries on .desktop files yet. Maybe this is why you thought there was no such thing in the spec. See bug #170209 on GNOME Bugzilla. Good chance to cook a patch for this. :-)

Maybe the desktop-entry spec should be updated to better describe the desktop actions?
