Now that this discussion arise, I want to extend it a bit, since I also don't know about some aspects of the impact that CWM (Composite Window Managers) will have over magnification. We discussed somethings in the gnome-accessibility-devel: http://mail.gnome.org/archives/gnome-accessibility-devel/2006-November/msg00030.html In my perception magnification must be provided apart from the CWM, this give us more flexibility and portability. One of the most important point that arise is that a plugin architecture must be defined, but I'm really skeptic about this, since IMO we could make a lot of preconceptions, imposing things that aren't necessary, since CWM experimentation is just starting (maybe this is preconception). What I think that is a rationale decision is have a way to tell the CWM to be only a Window Manager (WM), since gnome-mag will have built-in support for Composition Manager (CM): http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=348375 This way if the CWM doesn't support the plugin architecture implemented by gnome-mag it ask to it become only a WM and gnome-mag start to be the CM.
