Beagle's GUI generates thumbnails only for search results, and it uses the GNOME mechanism to do this. I don't think it's a good idea for the crawlers themselves to do this; it seems like a waste of disk space, and many of the thumbnails will be outdated by the time they'd actually be displayed (in a search tool, the file manager, etc.).
I agree with Joe in that we should keep thumbnails out. At least for this iteration. I'm not agreeing with the fact that the thumbnails will be out of date, but let's not start that discussion if we are not going to include them anyway. Cheers, Mikkel
