That seems to be the Modern approach anyway. XGrabKey is > so _old_ and _simple_ solution that it can't be used.
Application does not need to call XGrabKey() to get events. There should be a way to solve conflicts, when two applications want the use the same key for completely different purpose. WM x App conflict may even look as an feature lack, if an important feature is assigned to buttons grabbed by WM. It happens e. g. with GIMP in some WMs. Not only hotkeys, but also Modifier + Mouse Click/DnD need conflict management. It was already discussed in past: http://lists.freedesktop.org/archives/xdg/2005-August/005635.html And once again about paste: http://lists.freedesktop.org/archives/xdg/2007-February/007675.html -- Best Regards / S pozdravem, Stanislav Brabec software developer --------------------------------------------------------------------- SUSE LINUX, s. r. o. e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Lihovarská 1060/12 tel: +420 284 028 966, +49 911 740538747 190 00 Praha 9 fax: +420 284 028 951 Czech Republic http://www.suse.cz/ _______________________________________________ xdg mailing list [email protected] http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/xdg
