Does someone remember why Exec=somescript %d, got deprecated from the desktop
entry standard
(along with other such % things) between 0.9.8 and 1.0?

It is still very much used in KDE to represent the directory part of %f, i.e.
the current directory,
for context menus over files in filemanagers. For instance an "Extract here"
action on a tar.gz archive
would use %d to pass the path to "here" to the application or script that does
the extraction...

Could it be de-deprecated? :)
