care should be taken when using that name in that context, as that very
name ("intents") is used on the android platform for a very similar
concept -- that could lead to confusion.
i'm just an android user, but to give you an idea of what "intents" mean
there, an application could offer to
android.intent.action.DIAL any url starting with tel:
or an application that uses the address book would ask the os to
android.intent.action.EDIT contact://contacts/people/1
it might even be worth looking into it in more detail, maybe it's
similar enough to be compatible.
