Anyway, LDGLAGS is nonsensical variable. Difficult to tell whether you made the same typo when actually running the command. Or, in fact, what is the problem if someone have not run into it himself. Generaly, PKG_CONFIG_PATH, LD_LIBRARY_PATH and PATH should be set to contain the corresponding directories in your ‘different location‘ before system locations. Setting LDFLAGS and/or LIBS is already deseprate a bit but it may be needed occasionally.
