I think the confusion is coming from the fact that JBoss doesn't
automatically bind all EJBs into the cmp: namespace.

Which makes getHome() completely useless.

If util.getHome() used the JNDI name instead it work work.

But as it stands now, you must make an ejb-ref to any bean who's util
class you plan on using.

I didn't think any appserver bound all ejbs into cmp: namespace.  So I'm
not sure it's implemented to use COMP_NAME anyway.
