Hi buddies. I tried XDoclet GUI in IDEA finally. It looks cool! -But here is an idea I think is cool too:
http://tinyurl.com/273d Unfortunately I'm completely lost in IDEA's Open API. Maybe you can help? I'm not planning to start on this right away, but I'd like to know if it's feasible, and it might influence/inspire how the xtags DTD / API is implemented in XDoclet 2. (I'm planning to simplify the xtags DTD a bit, and it should contain enough info to support this kind of IDE integration). XDoclet GUI is quite cool the way it is now, but IMHO it's too much point-and click. Providing code-completion like this would be awesome, and I think we should try to stretch XDoclet GUI in that direction. That basically means that XDoclet GUI (or maybe XDoclet) should provide a model API that makes this kind of code completion for various IDEs more easy to develop. I haven't looked at XDocle GUI's code for a while, but maybe the model it uses today can be used (or tweaked?) What do you think?
