David, your mail was intended for the list I guess...

OK, David and Konstantin. I see the point now. Go on, throw it in :-)

But read Ara's (controversial) thoughts about code generation too:

module now?

I disagree with you Aslak, I think this should definitely be generated. It
makes the entire process of generating the deployable .sar for jboss
automatable. otherwise someone has to maintain this file by hand and keep
it in sync with adding and removing persistent classes. Just because it's
simple doesn't mean it isn't extremely useful.

Konstantin, you might take a look at the jdo task, although that generates
a considerably more complicated file.

Also you might want to consider something like the selectivity used in
generating jboss-service.xml files in that jboss task, where each file
includes the name of the *-service file(s) it should be included in. You
specify in the ant task which file you want to generate, and it just
includes the stuff from those files. This lets you generate xmbean
descriptors or Standard MBean interfaces for all files in a fileset, but
generate deployment instructions for one or more subsets.

Actually I think something like this for ejbs would be a good idea too.

How does Hibernate deal with multiple classes of the same name in different
packages?

thanks
