I followed Heiko's tip using cvsgrab.  Oh, no! Reeeaaally slow. But much better than 
downloading every single file separately.

I had problems in getting the hostname resolved. It looks like a DNS problem. 
http://www.enc.com.au/itools/nslookup.php helped me to get the IP address of the 
server.
