In my plugin, I need to access the MetadataProvider passed at instantiation time. Since it is a private attribute of AbstractPlugin, I can't. I see two possibilities (I'm using the first one), but none of them really satisfies me, because it's more a get around than a solution.
- In the constructor of my Plugin, I keep the reference of the MetadataProvider as a private variable.
- Or, in my jelly script, I pass the ${metadata} argument to the plugin method i call.
I thought it would just make more sense to have a protected getMetadataProvider method in the AbstractPlugin !? But maybe there's a secret reason why this method is not there!?
If not, then let me know, I can provide a patch and/or file the issue on Jira.
