Hi, I've got a few things to bring up....
First of all, it looks like the 1.3 release is getting pretty close. I've sumitted a patch for my issue (1414), again :-), but I'm wondering if we're in some sort of code freeze, or should I submit a fix for (newly created) issue 1437 as well.
Secondly, forgive me if I'm asking something that has been duplicated
elsewhere, what exactly is the purpose/status
of xdoclet2? Is it designed to be 1.5 only, using actual attributes, for instance. After release 1.3 will there be some sort of massive effort to convert everything over, or will this fork persist far into the future? What are the conditions for the changeover, what is xdoclet2 designed to do that xdoclet doesn't? Also, what is the status of xdoclet2, is it getting close to production ready?
XD2 is a completely separate project managed by an essentially disjoint
group of people. It's a real marketing disaster, since there doesn't
appear to be any coordination between XD1 and XD2, but the naming of the
two projects clearly implies that there *ought* to be some coordination
:-). XD1 and XD2 are both under active development. I don't think XD2
ever got the public momentum it needs to be be successful, and they
don't have the manpower to give enough polish to the website to
advertise it as a viable and stable development tool.
XD1 is housed at sourceforge...there is an xdoclet2 module in CVS but
it's long dead since XD2 moved to codehaus. Ironically, XD2 modules are
housed at sourceforge in another project...
