Mostly yes.  But due to different feature set, and a
fact that xdoclet-1 developers insist on developing it
further, instead to switch to XD-2 plugins it is not
always possible...

XD2 tags follow DTD more closely ( as good possible,
because hibenate DTD is changing at amazing pace )

As said before, XD1 developers are not eager to move
on on XD2 plugins and continue to develop XD1, besides
the fact that XD1 has no tag validation and formal
definition and templating language is a bitch

( though jelly guys feel that they were inspired by
it,
I'm still asking why :) )
