It has some problems, because it's not tested a lot. But that doesn't mean we can't make it perfect. Understanding the template file is easy so please create/send us your patches and we'll commit them instantly. That's the whole thing open source is about :o)
PS: I use WAS myself but the CMP engine doesn't have all the bells and whistles I need, so I don't use the CMP stuff.
