What makes you think so? Because you see the word "EJB" in both 
projects docs? There is *no* overlapping functionality. Should be 
pretty clear from the document that you sent a link to.

These ant tasks are either about *packaging* or *deploying* J2EE 
components to various containers, or *invoking* proprietary container 
tools (such as weblogic.ejbc and weblogic.deploy).

XDoclet is a code generator. It can generate code. Nothing more. Never 
ever (I hope). This means (for example) that XDoclet will never be able 
to create e.g. an EJB jar file.
