is it possible to introduce a new tag (i.e. <XDtFormat:eatSpace/> or
something similiar) to help in formatting the file that templates generate?

the template system is *excellent*, but the files are very difficult to
read and edit, as it's hard to see where tags start and end.

i'm working with a castor-related subtask and the part of the original
template looked like:

paramName="many-key"/>"</XDtMethod:ifHasMethodTag><XDtMethod:ifHasMethodTag
tagName="castor:field-sql" paramName="many-table">
            many-table="<XDtMethod:methodTagValue
tagName="castor:field-sql"
paramName="many-table"/>"</XDtMethod:ifHasMethodTag><XDtMethod:ifHasMethodTag

something like:

        <XDtMethod:ifHasMethodTag tagName="castor:field-sql" paramName="many-table">
        many-table="<XDtMethod:methodTagValue tagName="castor:field-sql"
paramName="many-table"/>"
        </XDtMethod:ifHasMethodTag><XDtFormat:eatSpace/>

        <XDtMethod:ifHasMethodTag tagName="castor:field-sql" paramName="dirty">
        ...

would make the editing of the template files a lot easier, but still
somehow preserve the correct *formatting* of the outputted file.

is this already exists or there are some good workarounds/best practices
for working with and maintaining the template files, please let me know.

thank you.
