Tried 'em both, but no luck under Win98.  I think &> would work under NT, 
but when I tried it on the NT machine at work, I just got a bunch of other 
errors because Maven couldn't get past the firewall to ibiblio (to contact 
the central modules repository) and I can't find any switches to tell 
it our proxy server settings...
